The University will reopen at 4:00 p.m on August 28, 2011.

During the storm, a few Garden City campus buildings experienced minor leaks and there were some downed trees. All debris has been cleared and the University did not lose power during the storm.

Employees should report to work on Monday August 29, 2011 to all University locations per their regular work schedule. Employees and students who rely on Public Transportation's should check travel conditions at www.mta.info. Adelphi University shuttle service will be operational.

Move-in day for NEW students will proceed as scheduled for Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Matriculation will take place on Tuesday--check in at 12:15 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Center for Recreation and Sports.

Following Matriculation, Parent Orientation will take place from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and the book discussion groups on The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, required for freshmen, will take place from 2:15 p.m.-3:30 p.m. RETURNING residential students can move in on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
